Long and stressful week. Didn't sleep much, I would say since Thursday I have got maybe 12 total hours of sleep. Maybe 12. Tried to get some on the 6 hour ride home from Michigan but I just couldn't stay asleep long enough, so I played "Are you Smarter then a 5th Grader?" and the alphabet game. Just riding in the vehicle with my wife's sister behind the wheel was enough to keep me wide awake.
The services were very good. It was nice to see literally 100s of people filtering in and out of the funeral home. Just goes to show you how many people he touched in his short time on earth. He was wife was a rock, I guess having 2 little ones to take care of keeps you grounded. You can tell she was exhausted and was out there mentally, but she held it together well and even spoke at the funeral, telling stories about all the people he loved in his life. Very emotional.
Of course, being on the road and in a hotel, the eating situation was not optimum. I ate enough IHOP and junk the last 4 days to make me good and sick. I am not going to weigh myself, but if I had to guess, I would say I gained a good 4-5 pounds of shit weight. Ugh.
I trained Saturday night. We got home from Michigan, packed another overnight bag, and headed to Cullen's to catch the UFC fight. My wife didn't want to sit at home, she wanted to be around people and be busy, so I was back in the car for another hour. I got there and got into my Rage X shirt. After some tweaking I was about 2 boards from touching 405 and I blew it right up easy. I took 455 down to about .5" from touching, came up halfway, then stalled out as the bar was too far back in my hands and my wrists were bent over. I tried it again and just took it too low the second time. It bent my wrist and damn near came down on top of me but Cullen saved my life. Again. I think I will be good to go in April in this shirt. Hoping for 455+. One thing about the Rage X, it cuts the shit out of your arms and blows major capillaries in your face and chest. Also, it had my new pacemaker scar swollen and sticking out like it wanted to burst. Good times.
Today we did SSB off the box with blue bands. Box was 1.5" lower this time then last time. Worked up to 535 + bands in briefs and belt. PR weight again! I wasn't expecting to get a pr today as I was, and still am, exhausted but I did what I needed to do.
Next was conventional deads. Work set 550. Got 4 reps, couldn't get the 5th. I didn't feel good during the set-up, and my lower back was smoked. On the 4th rep I got weird with my form and dumped it onto my back, so now I am sitting here with a sore back and 1200 mgs of Ibuprofen coursing through me. It isn't anything major injury wise, but I am pissed. 550 for 5 should be a fucking joke.
Called it a day and headed home. Got home and basically collapsed for 2 solid hours of sleep. That usually means that I wont sleep for shit tonight but I have a plan of attack and it involves NyQuil. I have been getting some GripBoard personal messages lately. I no longer use that board at all, or any forum for that matter, so the easiest way to contact me to get a response is to email me at: rickwalker.cscs@gmail.com
Till Tuesday-
