We lifted at Old Head Greg's place and I have to say, his bench set-up is terrible. In an hour and a half I nearly destroyed my shitty shoulder and it felt like I tore my petaller tendon. Just could not set-up. Imagine benching on a 2x10 piece of wood about 16" off the ground. Yeah! Anyway...
-Reverse band bench: did 455 x1, 495 x1 real easy, then missed 545 x1. As soon as Cullen handed it off, I couldn't get my balance with it. The hard bench meant I couldn't dig my shoulders into it, and I was teetering back and fourth. Said fuck it and tried it, couldn't get my arch, and with the lower bench I couldn't drive my belly up without lifting my ass, so I missed it and called it a day. I most likely wont lift there on the weeks they go there to bench. Too risky for me.
My step-son got the gig. He starts late June with them and is on a straight run from there. As a matter of fact, they have shows June 30, July 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 at a metal fest in Illinois. Then they are have a few shows here in PA, then out to Kentucky and beyond. Here is his new band:
Minus the singer. The new singer will be the burly red head that is playing bass in this video. He is excited and ready. I told him to go for it, college will always be there if he doesn't make it.
Cambered bar squats tomorrow-
