I've been working on a TV film recently with David Jason (Only Fools and Horses, Open All Hours etc) and Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, 24 etc). Here's a picture of Herena's gang in which I was one of the mercenaries along with actors Chris Willoughby, Liz May Brice, fellow stuntman James O'dee and Pia Mechler.
Check out the real stuntmen of famous actors doing some amusing screen tests based on the characters they doubled for. This was a promo for the Taurus Stunt Awards.
Congratulations to my fellow stunt performer Ben Cooke and Adam Kirley along with Kai Martin and Marvin Stuart Campbell for winning a World Stunt Award for Best High Work at the Taurus World Stunt Awards at the weekend. Gary Powell who I recently worked with on The Bourne Ultimatum picked up the Best Stunt Coordinator award for the same movie. Here's the stunt!
This one is from Jackie Chan's 'Rumble in the Bronx'. I've been watching Jackie Chan films since the age of ten. The stunts Jackie and his stunt team have performed over the years are simply incredible. His body of work is huge and this is one of many stunts that I could have chosen.
This is the roof jump that director Stanley Tong decided to 'test' himself first! In Hong Kong many action directors come from a stunt background. Stanley was a stuntman for many years before turning his efforts behind camera.
They originally tried this with a wire but felt it was to dangerous. So instead a platform was built and rig was put on that in case of a fall. There looks to be no room for error. Too high and you smash your head and probably die. Too low and it's a long way to the catch pad out of control. It's one of the ballsiest stunts ever in my book. AWESOME!
From left to right...Reg Wayment (12 years Special Forces, Tactical Advisor and Fight Choreographer for Blood Diamond), Yours Truly, Mark 'Franklin' Henson (20 years plus Stunt Coordinator), Guy List (my MOST MASSIVE friend and top UK stuntman) and John Street (Ex Royal Marine Unarmed Combat Instructor). On set during the winter filming of The Golden Compass starring Danial Craig and Nicole Kidman.
No doubt this is in my top 5...Ross Kananga, who owned the crocs, takes five unbelievable attempts to pull off one the most incredible physical stunts ever seen.
